A body recomposition app, all in one file.

NOTANOTR, an iPhone app launching soon, reads your weight trend, your measured maintenance, your sets per muscle and your waist, arm and chest measurements together during a recomp, and gives one change every Sunday.

The short answer

In a recomp the scale barely moves, so one number is not enough.

During a recomposition you try to lose fat and build muscle at the same time, so the scale can stay flat while your body changes. MacroFactor and Carbon adjust calories from the weight trend. Hevy logs your training, body measurements and progress photos. NOTANOTR reads all of it together, in one file.

Adaptive calories

MacroFactor

Expenditure estimated from intake and the weight trend, with a weekly check-in. Training lives in MacroFactor Workouts, a separate app.

A weekly macro coach

Carbon Diet Coach

A weekly check-in recalibrates calories and macros from intake, weight change and compliance. Workouts are not logged.

A training log

Hevy

Weight, reps, RPE, sets per muscle group per week, body measurements and progress photos. Food is not listed on its site.

All of it, read together

NOTANOTR

The trend, measured maintenance, every set and your measurements in one weekly read, with one change every Sunday.

Side by side

What a recomp needs read, and who reads it.

Honest limits

What NOTANOTR does not do.

  • No AndroidiPhone only, for now. MacroFactor, Carbon and Hevy all run on Android.
  • Not for beginnersIt reads what you already log. It does not teach you how to train or how to count food.
  • Not in the App Store yetIt launches soon. Leave an address on the front page and we tell you when it is live.
  • Not freeUSD 39.99 a month or USD 299 a year, with 7 days free (CHF 39.95 or CHF 299 in Switzerland, EUR 39.99 or EUR 299 where the App Store charges in euros). Hevy is free with an optional Hevy Pro.

FAQ

Questions lifters ask before they switch.

Why is the scale not enough in a recomp?

Because fat lost and muscle gained can cancel out on the scale. The waist, the lifts and the photos show the change the scale hides, so a recomp needs them read next to the trend.

What does NOTANOTR read during a recomp?

The 7-day weight trend against your plan line, your measured maintenance, every set with its e1RM, weekly sets for 13 muscles, your waist, arm and chest measurements and your check-in photos.

Does it set my calories for a recomp?

It re-measures your maintenance every week, and the Sunday check-in proposes one change along the plan line you set, with the number behind it.

How do the check-in photos work?

Each pose has a drawn guide, and your last photo shows as a ghost, so you stand where you stood last time. Front, side and back, relaxed, next to your waist, arm and chest measurements.
