Hevy, Strong or MacroFactor? Or one file for both.

NOTANOTR is an iPhone app, launching soon, that reads your sets and your food as one file, where most lifters log sets in Hevy or Strong and food in MacroFactor, and every Sunday it gives you one change for the week.

The short answer

Pick by what you want read.

Hevy and Strong are workout logs. MacroFactor is a nutrition app, with workouts in a second app. NOTANOTR reads training and food together, with sleep and blood work, for lifters who already log both.

Only a workout log

Hevy or Strong

Set logging, rest timers, records and charts, on iPhone and Android. Neither lists food tracking on its site.

Only calories

MacroFactor

An expenditure estimate from what you eat and how your weight trends, adjusted at a weekly check-in. Workouts live in MacroFactor Workouts, a separate app with its own subscription.

Both, read together

NOTANOTR

Every set, meal, weigh-in, night of sleep and blood test in one file. Maintenance is re-measured every week, and the Sunday check-in gives one change across all of it.

Side by side

What each one logs, and what it reads together.

The other three as their own sites describe them. NOTANOTR as its front page does.

Honest limits

What NOTANOTR does not do.

  • No AndroidiPhone only, for now. Hevy, Strong and MacroFactor all run on Android.
  • Not for beginnersIt reads what you already log. It does not teach you how to train or how to count food.
  • Not in the App Store yetIt launches soon. Leave an address on the front page and we tell you when it is live.
  • Not freeUSD 39.99 a month or USD 299 a year, with 7 days free (CHF 39.95 or CHF 299 in Switzerland, EUR 39.99 or EUR 299 where the App Store charges in euros). Hevy is free with an optional Hevy Pro, Strong has a free account, and MacroFactor has a free trial.

FAQ

Questions lifters ask before they switch.

Does NOTANOTR replace Hevy or Strong?

For logging sets, it can: every set with load, reps and RIR, a rest timer, e1RM per lift and a stall flag. The difference is that the same file also holds your food, weight, sleep and blood work, and the coach reads them together.

Does it adjust calories like MacroFactor?

It re-measures your maintenance every week from what you ate and what the scale did, and reads the 7-day trend against your plan line. On Sunday it proposes one change, for example to hold or to lower calories, with the number behind it.

Can I use Claude or ChatGPT with it?

Yes, if you want to. With a code you make in the app, Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client can read the file and propose changes. Every proposal waits in the app until you apply it.

Does it read sleep and blood work too?

Yes. Sleep, HRV and resting heart rate come in from Apple Health, and a lab report goes in as a photo, in any language, with every marker against the lab’s range. The Sunday check-in reads them next to your sets and your food.
